Structure and Characteristics:  A composite material made by using synthetic resin as a binder and glass fiber and its products as reinforcing materials is called glass fiber reinforced plastic. Due to its high strength, which can be compared to steel, it is also known as fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP).  The specific gravity of lightweight high-strength fiberglass is only 1.4-2.0, which is only 1/4-1/6 of ordinary steel grids, about 1/3 lighter than aluminum. However, its mechanical strength can reach or exceed the level of ordinary carbon steel. For example, some epoxy and unsaturated polyester fiberglass can achieve tensile and bending strength of over 400MPa. The electrochemical corrosion mechanism of fiberglass is different from that of ordinary metals. It is non-conductive and will not dissolve ions in electrolyte solutions.
